From 1 February 2019, a new maximum device speed limit of 10km/h for motorised wheelchairs and mobility scooters for use on public paths has been implemented by LTA. This new law helps to protect pathway users, while ensuring that those with genuine mobility challenges can still have proper use of such devices. From Q1 2026, this speed limit is reduced to 6km/h. All AGIS Medical PMA devices are already compliant with this new speed limit as of 2025.
AGIS Medical Supplies follows LTA’s legislation closely, and AGIS Medical Supplies Pte Ltd’s wheelchairs and mobility scooters do comply with LTA’s guidelines.
Wheelchair or mobility scooters must not exceed 120cm in length and 70cm in width when boarding public transport. Wheelchairs or PMAs must not exceed a total laden weight of 300kg. From Q1 2026, the size and weight limits will become applicable to all PMA devices, regardless of where they are operated.
